You asked for it---you got it!!
What does every scrapper need more of??? TIME!!  Beginning November 1, Scrapbooks will open on Sundays at 1:00—6:00.  Due to popular demand the store will remain open until 8:00 pm on weekdays.  Take advantage of our new hours to run by the store on your way home from work, after the kid's soccer practice, or simply to get out of the house for a while. Remember the crop room is open when we are, and we've added more tools and accessories to make your time more productive and fun. We look forward to seeing you soon!!
 
 

November Page Contest Theme
Wanted:  Your Fall Page Layouts!!

What comes to mind when someone says autumn to you? Perhaps harvest, Halloween, Thanksgiving…or maybe that sunny, cool day that you and the kids enjoyed playing in the leaves.  Whatever ways that you and your family celebrate the season we want to share it with you.  The November contest theme is called “Fabulous Fall”.  Please bring all your layouts pertaining to the fall season into the store for our November Layout contest.   The winner takes home ten dollars in merchandise from the store…and who couldn't use MORE scrapping supplies?? Please have your layout in the store by November 10th. Everyone is eligible to enter and its fun to share all these wonderful layouts with your fellow scrappers. On the other hand those that do not enter the contest please come in and cast your vote.

(Only one entry per person, per contest.  Names of entrants will not be posted with the layouts. Layouts must fit contest theme.  All pages must fit into 8.5 X11 or 12 X 12 page protectors. Pages will be returned to participates after contest ends. Please, no photocopies.  We will respect and care for your pages while they are at Scrapbooks.)
 
 

November Classes and Workshops

What's going on at Scrapbooks in November? Lots of new classes and workshops to spark your creativity.  Check the enclosed calendar for dates, but look here for class and workshop descriptions.

We, at Scrapbooks, want everyone to have that opportunity to crop with other scrappers and enjoy a night out with friends.  However these crops fill up very quickly and some of our customers have been very disappointed to have missed out.  Try to sign up as soon as you can to avoid any possible disappointments. We want all of customers to experience cropping in the store and having access to our facilities and supplies.
 

Extra Dimensions.  Pam Easley will begin a group of classes on the popular trend of embellishing your scrapbook pages. Embellishments classes will continue throughout the winter.  Each class will focus on something a little different.  From eyelets to wire to just you won't want to miss a single session $10.00.

Creative Lettering 101 Do you look at your pages with a critical eye and think “This page needs help”?  Try this lettering class to add some style to your page headings and journaling.  Learn to go beyond the basics with premade as well as create from scratch! $10.00.

Plan a Page workshop   Learn neat techniques to use with these wonderful, versatile templates.  Find new ways to use your templates!

Lacquer layouts 101   Learn to use Crystal Lacquer to embellish your patterned papers, die cuts, and more.  In this class, Angie will help you complete a layout using this lacquer.  A sample of the project will be on display at Scrapbooks until class time.  All supplies included. $10.00

Vellum: make it and take it:  This is a short workshop focused on paper piecing vellum. You will make a simple paper piece and experiment with chalks to add that special something. $6.00

Make it take it Harvest:  This is another short paper piecing workshop with a harvest theme. $6.00

 Paperkins Make it and Take it : Join Kara for a short but fun workshop. You will complete a project using Paperkins from EK Success $6.00.

Beginner Class This class will introduce you to the basics of scrapbooking.  We will show you where to begin.  You will learn what is and isn't safe to use in your scrapbook and basic layout techniques.  You will have the opportunity to try out various cutting systems, adhesives, and tools so that you can decide what products are right for you You will complete a 2 page spread in your class.  All supplies included. Bring 6-8 photos of a related theme.
 

Kaleidoscope Class Learn how to make  beautiful photo kaleidoscopes to embellish your page or be your page! Use our photos during this class until you have the hang of things, but bring a picture to learn why it would or wouldn't be a good kaleidoscope.  $8.00

Calligraphy 101: Learn the basics of calligraphy. Each participant will receive a calligraphy pen, practice paper, and lettering guide. $15.00.

Remember:  Preregistration and prepayment are required to reserve your spot and supplies in each class or workshop.  Call or stop by the store to register today.  Cancellations must be received within 48 hours of a class for credit towards another class.

 We have the newest line of coordinating papers from a line called Doodlebug Designs.  To make this even more exciting there will be coordinating colored eyelet (I-lets) that match the Doodlebug line.  This will be one of your favorite papers…so easy to work with and coordinate.  We look forward to this shipment!!

Christmas Wish List
Do you want to receive really awesome Christmas gifts from Scrapbooks this year? Just drop by the store to fill out your wish list. A Scrapbooker is entrusted with documenting and safely
preserving family photos in an album to be treasured
by future generations. Creating a Scrapbook is an
honorable and important task. As a Scrapbooker, you
are entitled (but not limited) to the following

You have the right to take as long as you want to complete one album page.
This may be five minutes or two weeks.

You have the right to purchase a certain scrapbook item for no other reason
than because
a) you like it;
b) you think it's cute;
c) you'll never find it again, or;
d) you know you'll use it someday.

You have the right to a workspace of your own. This may be the basement, your
college student's old bedroom, or the kitchen table. It's yours.

You have the right to scrapbook when inspiration strikes--whether the dishes
are done or not.

You have the right to request peaceful, kid-free, stress-less scrap
time--guilt-free.

You have the right to create pages that reflect and
celebrate the spirit of the one person who is usually NOT in the photograph:
You.

You have the right to put whatever you want on your
album page. This includes, but is not limited to: patterned papers, die-cuts,
stickers and Punch-Outs. You may place as many or as few photos per page as
you deem appropriate.

You have the right to do nothing more than snack and
socialize at a 6-hour cropping party.

You have the right to value your personal scrapbooking
style to be as important as your photographs. You are
creating a treasure-and part of that treasure is you.

You have the right to create your own legacy, one page
at a time.

Crops filling up fast!!

Have you been to a crop lately at Scrapbooks?? These events have been filling up fast. Croppers enjoy dinner, hourly prizes, and time to trade ideas with other scrapbookers.  Due to limited space some customers have not been able to attend a crop.. If you would like to come to a crop please call or stop by Scrapbooks as soon as possible to sign up.  Pre-payment is required to reserve your space.  Scrapbooks wants everyone who wishes to participate to have an opportunity, but spaces re provided on a first come first serve basis. We are working hard to expand our offerings of all classes, workshops, crops, and events.  Thank You for all of your enthusiasm.
